African Food

After eating at a good but 'pricey' french restaurant on Queen, we hailed a taxi near midnight. Climbing in we were enveloped in a delicious aroma -- the taxi diver's 'snack.' What was it? Take-out from New-Bilani on Dundas just east of Jarvis, he said. Late one cold afternoon this week I walked over and found it. The standard price appears to be #7.99 for a meal. I ordered a chicken stew with barbecue sauce and and a baked goat rib meal. The meal includes a large serving of seasoned rice. The servings are large and the flavors delicious. There is an 'ordinary' dining room, but most people seem to use New-Bilani as a take-out. No liquor liscence and probably no credit cards.
