Chowhounders always have the best suggestions and since I'm really shooting in the dark here, I could use a few about now! I initially had this post in the TriState Board, but think it may be better in the MidAtlantic Board.
I'm responsible for organizing a bachelorette party in Atlantic City. I've never been there and just have no idea what to expect. We are 15 girls in our late 20s, early 30s from Manhattan and Coastal CT and we need a place for a big fun dinner on May 5. We are staying at the Borgata, which happens to be really, really pricey (each room is over $500 a night) -- so, although we'd love to do something fun and fabulous and fancy for dinner on Saturday night, I think we need to go easy. If we could spend $60 a head or less for dinner it would be ideal.
I called the Concierge at the hotel and she recommended Tun Tavern -- it looks kind of like a big beer bar and may be too much of a meat market for us. It seems like the kind of place that might have bachelorette parties where the bride wears white and has a tiara on -- I think (or I'd like to think!) that our group is a bit more sophisticed than that! She also suggested Mexican, as it will be Cinco de Mayo, but I called the one place in town (Los Amigos) and they don't take resies that night because they are too crazy.
So -- maybe if someone could recommend a restaurant where we could get a really big bang for our buck, some place with nice ambience and good food and service. I have no problem if we have to set a menu and prechoose our wines, I almost prefer it bc it can control costs.
