I am looking for an old fashioned Special Occasion restaurant for my husband's 60th b-day which falls this year on 12/16...a Sunday.
There will be 3-5 of us, and we will be dining with our 11 year old daughter who is accustomed to, and loves fine dining, and is very well behaved. (She has travelled with us to NYC and Paris before, dining at all kinds of restaurants, all sorts of cuisines.)
We'd prefer a more "traditional" restaurant...something like Le Grenouille, which we loved, but sadly doesn't serve on Sunday.
Italian would be nice. But we are open as far as cuisine.
Nothing with a "required" multi-course tasting menu.
No molecular gastronomy.
Budget is not an issue.
Ambiance and service are the priorities.
We will be staying at The Michaelangelo, but could travel within Manhattan for the right place.
