Went to 44 & X Hell's Kitchen, which of course is on 44th street and 10th Avenue.
Was very impressed by the food. Creative and high quality. I had a tuna tartar with seaweed that was excellent. The waitress reccomended the prime rib with parma ham and chanterelles. For some reason it was rib steak. That was one of the best I've ever had. Dinner companions were equally please with the other dishes.
The service was uneven. Our first waiter discouraged me from one wine and reccomended anotehr. I appreciated his honesty. Then another waiter came and it was an unusually long wait for the appetizer followed by one soup being luke warm. Once we complained they made it right and we were generally pleased.
Would love to know about other experiences including anyone who's tried brunch or desert.
