Thanks so much to everyone who helped me out with my eating plans for my upcoming trip-I really appreciate it! I think I will not try and score the xiao long bao this trip-sounds like a little too much work even for me.
I'll be arriving at noon on April 3 and I did look into the possibility of renting a car for a half a day to get out to the "good" ramen outside the city-but I just couldn't bring myself to drop $50+ to get out to a bowl of soup. Soooo-here goes
Day 1-arrive noon, trek to hotel (Hilton O'Farrell St). Ramen at Katana-Ya? Tanpopo?
DInner -Crab at Great Eastern or R&G (Opinions on which?)
Day 2- Meeting eats during the day, but Ame at 6:30 (cancelled orginal Myth reservation)
Day 3 (Saturday) Work doesn't start til 11-so it's off to the farmer's market early-then 8 p.m. dinner at Bar Crudo
Day 4- Looking for a neat breakfast place-something where I could take my computer and work would be great (wireless would be nice but not 100% necessary).Anything with a view of the water? I can linger this morning.
And so far I have no plans for dinner, but I'm thinking I might be ready for something non-Asian-someplace kinda cheap and casual? Where I can wear jeans? Maybe followed by a cool bar or coffee/dessert thing?
I gotta be at the airport at 7:30 a.m. the next day to fly all the way home to Va. To my hometown where literally the best restaurant is the Golden Corral, and there can be a 2-hour wait for IHOP.
