After reading some reviews and learning about the adventure of 33 Stanhope, we made reservations for Friday night for dinner. We arrived on time, to a nearly empty restaurant... but to a very friendly and helpful staff.
A little time-conscious, I ordered two appetizers, since it was a pre-movie night. The corn and crab bisque was sadly bland and under-salted, but after a dusting turned out to be just fine. Mild, it was as a bisque should be... but I prefer mine with more pronounced flavors of corn and crab. The duck confit was served with a side of bean cassoulet. This dish was plain disappointing. The duck was overcooked, browned to the point of crunchy burnt-ness and the cassoulet was fatty and salt lacking (and I am a person who habitually under salts her food).
My dinner partners enjoyed their food; however, remarked that they would return only for drinks next time. I had to agree. The place was interesting in decor and had a wonderful music selection. The drink menu looking intriguing. Definitely hip drinking spot... will not choose to dine next time.
