The wife and I will be leaving for Kaua'i later this week, and I'd like to get the latest scoop on:
(A) the best fish markets on island. Am familiar (from years ago) with Dolfin in Hanalei, Kilauea Fish Market, and the place on the boardwalk in old Koloa Town. I know,,, what gets gets, but I am looking for a place that gets a decent ongoing selection of snapper (opakapaka, onaga, uku), black ulua, ono and a'u. Who do you recommend in 2010, and are there any tricks (like opening times, calling ahead, etc.)?
(B) the "go To" places for local grinds, with emphasis on old-style dishes like kalua pig, squid luau, poi, long rice, SPAM musube, etc.. Heard Aloha Diner is gone, know Ma's is :(. That sort of place.
(C) the days (start times) and places of the farmers' markets.
