Has anyone tried Crescent Dragonwagon's vegetarioan book?Called Bean to Bean (I think). Looked interesting.
Also,t here was a set of books (I think from UK) that were very basic but had an interesting method of teaching - they gave you a top-down picture of what the ingredients would look like, then what they would look like when prepped, then cooking, etc. Not flashy, but my wife (not a cook but would like to be), might like them. Interested if anyone has ever seen or tried thjem (or even what the titles were).
