Usually sells for $10, often discounted to $7 ... available currently at least at the San Pablo Grocery Outlet ... to me this is a deal because it is one of the few cheap white wines that is more than drinkable.
This has the loveliest bouguet ... like apples ... 13% alcohol and that shows slightly, but still a nice drinkable table wine.
The Jest White site says it is a blend of Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Symphony, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Muscat and Gewurztraminer but as the site says ...
"Jest White is neither too dry nor too sweet. Jest as it is neither too heavy nor too light, nope, Jest White is Jest right."
It went well with this cream cheese/fig appetizer I put together.
Listen, I have NO wine creds other than I just can't stand cheap white wine. I will drink boxed red ... there is very little red I won't drink, but white has to be drinkable. I thought this was more than just drinkable and is a worthy match for any $10 white out there.
The website is kind of obnoxious, way to cutesy ... even for me
Most of the stuff I found out there was positive, but it was mainly stores selling the wine ... so there you go. Did find this San Diego wine column that liked it.
My guess is the discount is because it is close to the end of its life and not something to keep around very long. Really this smells so much like a wine I had in France that impressed me so much I remember it to this day. Not quite on that level at all (it sold for $80) ... but if you see it for $2, you might want to give it a try and see what you think
