Most of my research on dining for this weekend trip has been via Time Out's Student Guide via web, and citysearch-NY.
Given how much I trust hounders in my town (Philly),
I have to assume I will be treated equally well by Manhattanites. Here goes.
Looking for cheap places, along the eating style of Holly Moore, whose site hollyeats.com is great guide to informal, delicious eating for Philadelphia.
can't really afford Daniel and Lespinasse this trip, have to wait.
italian, chinese, vietnamese food, i am very familiar with.
classic cuisine is an area Philly has a lot of.
what i really want is what would be street food if it were outside US borders.
maybe (preferably?) some eastern european, 3rd world cuisines.
ideally stuff not available in philly (here's hoping some of you that read this in time have enough Philly experience)
