I'm going to be in Vegas for 2 tradeshows. I have an average food budget of $50 per day. Any suggestions for must-see or avoid at all cost locations. I'll be staying at the Luxor and Mandalay Bay hotels and will not have a vehicle, so public transportation/walking distance is a big plus although a couple of taxi rides would be okay.
I have a fairly overwhelming list of restaurants/buffets from searching through the list and I'm looking for a few suggestions that cater more specifically to my tastes and what is unique to Las Vegas. I love steak and barbecue, but aside from fish, I don't really care for seafood, so I have no interest in places that inflate their prices for seafood. I'm not much of a drinker, so winelist/drinks are not a big concern. Also, suggestion for great desserts (especially chocolate), are most welcome.
Also, as an non-food related question. I am an avid swimmer, does anyone have a good suggestion for a public-accessable lane pool? I'll be posting reviews and info when I return. Thanks.
