Overheard on the New York Boards

"From beginning to end not one little hiccup in the service, and the food was wonderful. Started us off with an (oddly large) amuse of a mushroom soup with some chive oil which was nicely toned down but quite tasty. I then moved on to the foie gras à la planche. Beautifully seared with pears as an accompaniment paired with a really nice Sauterne; the classic fat/sweet combo was executed perfectly. ... Entrée for me was the lamb, served as a chop and a crépinette made from the shank meat. Chop perfectly cooked but the standout was the crépinette portion, fantastic." – Spiritchaser on La Silhouette

"The dinner was awesome! We had the turnip ceviche and saffron fennel to start with and the butternut squash risotto and the miso-glazed daikon for the main course. They were all good but we really enjoyed the ceviche and the daikon. Overall a great experience!" – unequalcoyote63 on Dovetail's Monday vegetarian dinner (three courses plus dessert for $46)

"What an odd creation ... a pile of fluff, looking very much like someone cleaned out the vacuum bag, put it on a plate, covered it with flavoring and Cocoa Puffs, added some red beans, mung beans and coconut to the base, and stuck a straw in its side. We ordered the Sesame Snopo and were pleasantly surprised at its light consistency and almost unsweet refreshing quality." – Peter Cuce on a Taiwanese frozen confection from Snopo, a food-court vendor at New World Mall in Queens
