Bring Your Babies, Human or Hound

Eating out is easy when you’ve got a table full of legal-drinking-age adults, but it can be tough to find a pleasant spot to eat with a dog or a small child.

foodymom has an interesting suggestion: On Friday nights from 5:30 to 8 p.m., chef Rachel Klein offers family friendly nights at Aura. The baby gets housemade organic baby food; older kids get kiddie fare; adults get fancy prix fixe fusion food. And there’s a play area right off the dining room with toys, books, and movies for when the kids get restless.

So what if your baby happens to have four paws and a tail? Places with a patio are what you should seek. Spots approved by dog-owning Chowhounds include:

• Beehive: “Very friendly hipster hostess brought Frankie his own bowl of water,” says Carty.
• Geoffrey’s in Roslindale Square: “They actually encourage you to bring your dog to their outdoor patio, which is awesome,” says twentyoystahs.
• Beacon Street Tavern, “but don’t go on a baseball night,” says teezeetoo.
