A lucky British teen has received an all-expenses-paid trip to international fame … courtesy of drinking seven double espressos!
The BBC reports that 17-year-old Jasmine Willis downed the beverages while working at her parents’ sandwich shop.
She developed a fever and began struggling to breathe after being sent home by her father.
‘My nerves were all over the place,’ [said Willis]. ‘I was drenched. I was burning up and hyperventilating. I was having palpitations, my heart was beating so fast and I thought I was going into shock.’
A brief hospital trip soon followed.
One savvy blogger pointed up the critical differences between Willis’s experience and that episode of Futurama wherein Fry drinks 100 cups of coffee and turns into a superhero who can move several thousand times faster than normal people.
To wit: Willis is no superhero.
