The Ice Cream Sandwich, New for 2007

If you’ve got $10 and some ice cream—and we know you do—Williams-Sonoma has a summer tool you’ve got to get. Food & Wine has dubbed the WS ice cream sandwich molds, which come in meat-bearing animal and star shapes, “adorable.”

Kids will love using them to transform soft cookies or chewy brownies into fun shapes—a cow, a star and a pig—then layering ice cream, frozen yogurt or sorbet in between. The frosty treats can be savored right away or stored in the freezer to enjoy later.

Yeah, “savored.” That’s the verb that first comes to mind when you see a five-year-old violently inhaling one of these “frosty treats.”

On the plus side: finally, a fun way for kids to appreciate ice cream sandwiches!
