After leaving his position as culinary director for Bouchon and Ad Hoc in Northern California, Jeffrey Cerciello opened Farmshop, a market-driven restaurant and bakery tucked in the revitalized and bustling Brentwood Country Mart. After initial praise, maudies5 revisited the shop this week. After eating a delicious egg, goat cheese, and roasted pear frittata, maudies5 reported that Farmshop is “hitting all high notes,” providing guests with excellent service and even better food.
Farmshop’s success stems from its first-class ingredients and talented staff, says lizziee, who believes that the restaurant will help “return the Country Mart to its glory days.” Good breakfast choices include the French toast with pear marmalade and the Hobbs bacon. The lunchtime steak sandwich and smoked salmon tartine are superb, and generous in size. Dinner can be ordered a la carte, but a three-course, family-style dinner is on the menu each evening as well, and all dishes change based on seasonal availability. “My husband plans to go for breakfast next week – I can’t think of a higher recommendation,” says lizziee.
