While instant coffee may not be the most appealing choice, it can be delicious when prepared correctly. In fact, using filtered water is a great way to enhance its flavor.

Minerals found in tap water, like aluminum and copper, can make the water taste metallic or slightly acidic, poorly impacting your coffee. Filtering water removes these impurities.

If you’re traveling and don’t have access to fresh or filtered water, simply ask the hotel or airport barista for a hot cup of water that you can stir your coffee packet in.
