Why Your Pizza Dough Is Coming Out Too Soggy

Soggy pizza dough indicates that your pizza is undercooked. While several factors can lead to soggy crusts, the most common issue is the oven not being hot enough.
When using a standard kitchen oven, the ideal temperature range is between 450 and 500 degrees Fahrenheit so make sure you give it enough time to heat up to those temperatures.
Additionally, use the bottom rack of the oven to cook your pizza. The bottom rack helps you cook the dough thoroughly without burning up the toppings.
You can invest in a pizza stone too. It retains heat evenly, especially when preheated, and its porous surface helps to prevent soggy crusts by allowing moisture to escape from it.
Excessive sauce or watery toppings can also lead to a soggy crust, emphasizing the importance of ensuring your pizza sauce is smooth enough to spread but still slightly thick.
