Iced coffee is a delicious and refreshing treat, but pouring hot coffee over ice will inevitably lead to a watered-down cup of joe. Thankfully, a cocktail shaker can help.

A cocktail shaker is used to mix cocktails and bring them to an icy-cold temperature without watering them down. It can do the same for your java and yield the perfect iced coffee.

Pour a room-temperature cup of coffee into the shaker with ice and put the top of the shaker on tightly. Shake until the shaker’s outside is cold, and pour your drink into a glass.

Be careful about adjusting your brew’s strength when using this method, as the resulting iced coffee will be much stronger than the regular one you get by pouring coffee over ice.
