Why Some Shoppers Suggest Avoiding The Meat At Sam's Club

Sam's Club offers many frugal options, but some people aren't happy with its meat selection. They claim the chain is particularly guilty of bad selection or overpricing.
A corporate wholesale retailer needs to offer a range of products for the lowest price people are willing to pay, which sometimes means sacrificing quality for lower costs.
Many cooks prefer a high fat ratio of 80:20, but most of the Sam's Club ground beef has a ratio of 93:7 or 88:12. The chain also sells some disappointing farm-raised fish.
Costco has a better variety of meat, but Sam's Club's annual membership and price per item are cheaper, so it may still be worth shopping at if budget is your main concern.
