Why Michael Voltaggio Loves The French Laundry Cookbook More Than Any Other

Speaking to Food & Wine, American chef, restaurateur, and "Top Chef" winner Michael Voltaggio shared his all-time favorite cookbook: "The French Laundry Cookbook."
The book was published in 1999 by the French Laundry owner Thomas Keller. It is an award-winning compilation of 150 recipes served at the restaurant throughout its history.
Unlike other cookbooks focused on ease and speed, "The French Laundry Cookbook" is a high-end cookbook that skips no steps, no matter how exacting.
"The French Laundry Cookbook changed everything in America," Voltaggio said. "It wasn't just a book, it was a new standard, a new goal line for everyone else to aim for."
