Why It's Smarter To Use Clear Ice In Your Cocktails

Shaken cocktails are diluted by almost a third from the ice, so to really perfect a mixed drink, use clear ice, which will dilute a drink more slowly and maintain its flavor.
Created by a process called directional freezing, clear ice has all air and other compounds pressed out of it, which allows it to melt slower and more uniformly.
On top of being less likely to water down your drink, clear ice is better for stirring and shaking, too; there's improved consistency between every batch.
Less compounds in the ice also means better flavor. There's less chance of an overly mineral taste, an off-tasting substance, and unwanted aromas.
Finally, the transparent nature of clear ice is simply better to look at. It'll enable your liquor to color the glass, and make the drink look more professional.
