Biting into a warm, flaky, and buttery croissant is always a joy, but etiquette expert William Hanson on TikTok believes that eating it with butter on top is a major faux pas.
Since croissant is already a butter-infused pastry, adding butter is quite redundant. Though not everyone may share this opinion, adding butter on butter seems to be a no-no.
Additionally, Hanson stated that there is just one right way to consume a croissant, and that's with jam or marmalade. He even disapproves
of dunking it in tea or coffee.
