A smear of butter

Whiskey Butter: The Condiment You'll Want To Spread On Everything

Whiskey butter is a type of compound butter, or butter flavored with other ingredients. It’s perfect for fans of robust, smoky, caramelized whiskey flavor.
Whipped whiskey butter is great on everything from buttermilk pancakes, corn bread, ribeye steak, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and dinner rolls.
Making whiskey butter at home is fast and easy. Start with butter in a bowl, softened so it better absorbs flavors, and then add the whiskey a teaspoon at a time.
Mix well and test the butter before adding more so you don't create a too-strong cocktail. Whip the mixture for a while by hand or with a mixer to achieve your desired texture.
Whiskey butter will even last in the freezer for about six months. Any whiskey will work to make whiskey butter, from straight whiskey to bourbon and beyond.
