Ample marbling is the secret to achieving a juicy steak using an air fryer, which is why a ribeye cut, known for its rich flavor and generous marbling, should be your first choice.
Ribeye steak thrives at high temperatures, making it ideal for air fryers. Its intramuscular fat melts and coats the muscle fibers as it cooks, enhancing flavor and texture.
Start by salting your steak in advance, and about 30 minutes before you’re ready to cook it, allow it to sit at room temperature. During this time, preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
Brush the ribeye with olive oil and then cook it for 10 to 12 minutes, adjusting based on thickness and desired doneness; the internal temperature for medium-rare is 130-135°F.
