What US State Has The Most Expensive Groceries?

When it comes to groceries, a 2023 survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau found that Hawaii had the most expensive grocery bill in the U.S., averaging $333.88 per week.
Hawaii is an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and the farther away from the main food supply a state is, the more the residents end up paying for food.
Food must be shipped to Hawaii from the mainland. This impacts what people pay for even the most basic staple items like milk, which has been roughly $7 a gallon in recent years.
