What Exactly Is Subway's Tuna Made Of?

In 2021, Subway customer Nilima Amin filed a lawsuit alleging that the chain's tuna sandwiches contained absolutely no tuna, leaving many consumers confused.

However, Subway stated in a press release that the claims had no merit and that the tuna sold in its restaurants is wild-caught skipjack and yellowfin.

In February 2021, "Inside Edition" ran a test on Subway’s tuna sandwiches with Applied Food Technologies, and all three samples returned positive as tuna.

In addition, Amin dropped the case entirely in April 2023, and the tuna controversy has done little to change Subway's reputation or profits.
