What Every Whiskey Enthusiast Should Know About

The Kentucky Bourbon Trail

NEWS

BY TONY COOPER

Kentucky produces about 95% of all bourbon, earning the title bourbon capital of the United States. The state has also hosted the famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail (KBT) since 1999.
The KBT is an officially recognized collection of some of Kentucky's preeminent distillers which offer tours and tastings, featuring historic buildings and beautiful scenery.
No two distilleries are created
the same. Some will only take reservations, and some tours are more detailed than others. Research which distilleries best fit your interests.
The KBT is spread out across different regions of Kentucky. A car is your likeliest form of transport, but some companies provide shuttle services to different KBT locations.
Many distilleries offer bourbon tastings as part of their tours, serving a selection of top-tier whiskeys. Some locations also offer classes
on working with bourbon too.
