Use Bacon Fat To Cook Canned Beans And Never Look Back

Canned foods are easy and affordable, but flavor-wise, they are often dull. In the case of canned green beans, try cooking them in bacon fat for a fuller, richer flavor.

Bacon fat is the perfect medium for cooking other dishes because its different forms, like hickory, applewood, or maplewood smoked, will impart different flavors.

All you need to do is cook bacon strips in the pan, and once they're done, you can add your canned green beans to the bacon fat to soak up all that flavor.

It’s best to pat the beans dry because moisture-filled green beans will prevent them from getting crisp. You can also cook the green beans in an oven.

Spread them evenly on a sheet pan, and drizzle them with the bacon grease. Then roast them at 475 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes until they’re nice and crisp.
