The best way to ensure your chili is thick and saucy is to introduce a roux right away. Out of the many ways to do so, the easiest and fastest is to use instant corn muffin mix.
Suggested by TikToker TheMilSO, this tip works so well because the mix's wheat flour is a good thickener, and the cornmeal absorbs liquid and adds a cornbread-like flavor.
While sugar isn't used as a sauce thickener, it can majorly upgrade your chili. The lard in the mix also works like a mixture of butter and flour, helping create a thicker base.
Adding two tablespoons of the product to your chili 10 minutes before serving should work. Or, make a thick slurry by mixing it with a bit of water and add that to your chili.
