The Wholesome History Of Arnold Palmer's Iced Tea Lemonade

Arnold Palmer is a golfing legend. At the height of his powers in the ‘50s and ‘60s he popularized a tea and lemonade drink that still bears his name.
Palmer came up with the drink combination one day in the 1950s when he asked his wife, Winnie, to make a pitcher of tea.
In an ESPN 30 for 30 interview, he recalled saying, “You make the iced tea and make a big pitcher, and we'll just put a little lemonade in it and see how that works.”
After playing with the recipe, he hit on what he considered the perfect proportions: two-thirds unsweetened tea to one-third lemonade.
He began bringing the concoction in a thermos whenever he played golf and it became a summer staple thanks to his huge fan base known as Arnie's Army.
Palmer's drink stayed under the radar until sometime in the late 1960s and in 2001, Palmer took his version to market making it even more popular.
