Arnold Palmer is a golfing legend. At the height of his powers in the ‘50s and ‘60s he popularized a tea and lemonade drink that still bears his name.

Palmer came up with the drink combination one day in the 1950s when he asked his wife, Winnie, to make a pitcher of tea.

In an ESPN 30 for 30 interview, he recalled saying, “You make the iced tea and make a big pitcher, and we'll just put a little lemonade in it and see how that works.”

After playing with the recipe, he hit on what he considered the perfect proportions: two-thirds unsweetened tea to one-third lemonade.

He began bringing the concoction in a thermos whenever he played golf and it became a summer staple thanks to his huge fan base known as Arnie's Army.
