The Unexpected Ingredient For The Best Spaghetti Sauce Ever

Although you might not think it, oyster sauce can vastly improve your spaghetti. The sauce is made from oysters flavored with sugar and MSG and thickened with flour and cornstarch.
Oyster sauce is salty-sweet with a concentrated savoriness, and it’s an easy addition to a butter- or oil-based garlic sauce or a classic tomato-based spaghetti sauce.
Oyster sauce contributes depth and complexity to pasta sauce. It also delivers big on texture, as its viscosity makes the pasta sauce silky and helps it hold onto the pasta.
For a butter or oil-based sauce, some recipes may call for as little as 1/4 the amount of oyster sauce to your preferred fat, and you can use just a few drops with a tomato base.
