The Temperature Mistake You Need To Stop Making With Red Wine

Generally, red wine should be served in a range from around 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit, with 52 to 55 degrees being optimal. This makes serving it at room temperature a mistake.
Warm temperatures can make the flavors in red wine unbalanced, bringing out acidity and tannins in discordant ways. If it gets too hot, it may even start fermenting again.
Instead, stick your bottle in the fridge for around ten minutes prior to serving to achieve the ideal temperature. With more unique wine styles, you may need to adjust.
For light and refreshing red wines that may be lightly sparkling, let it get to 50 degrees F or cooler. For bold and rich red wines, aim for somewhere around 60 degrees F.
