The Simple Hacks Bobby Flay Uses For Perfect Corn On The Cob

In an episode of "Boy Meets Grill" on YouTube, Bobby Flay shared some hacks for perfectly grilled corn, which starts with grilling it with the husks attached and the silk removed.
Leaving the husk on "protect[s] the kernels" from the grill's high heat, according to Flay. Just peel the husks back like a banana, but leave the bottom ends intact.
The next step is removing the silk from the corn, which can be made easier with a potato brush. The friction of the brush makes removing the silk a breeze.
Flay's next hack is to soak the ears of corn in a large bowl filled with water and a little salt for at least 10 (and up to 20) minutes before grilling.
The husks will absorb the moisture, preventing them from burning on the grill. This moisture also essentially steams the corn as it cooks, resulting in nice and tender kernels.
Flay places his corn cobs right on the grill and grills them for 15 to 20 minutes, turning them every so often. They're ready once the husks are charred and the kernels are glossy.
