As per the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, store-bought salsa is good for one month if refrigerated after opening, and unopened jars are good for a year from purchase.
Although consuming spoiled salsa may not pose immediate health risks, it can compromise the taste and quality of dishes, so ensure you adhere to the “best if used by” date.
Keeping track of when you open condiments, including salsa, can help maintain and ensure their freshness. Downloading the USDA’s FoodKeeper app can assist you with the task.
