The Secret Behind Olive Garden's Alfredo Sauce

Olive Garden fans have likely imagined a pot of that famous secret recipe bubbling on a stovetop somewhere, locked in a test kitchen with more security than Fort Knox.
However, the recipe is out, thanks to Pop Sugar. It requires half a cup of Parmesan, half a cup of Romano, and equal amounts of heavy cream and milk — 1 ½ cups each, to be exact.
It gets its savory profile from a tablespoon of minced garlic. Olive Garden thickens it with three tablespoons of butter and flour and finishes with a dash of pepper.
The choice of pasta is intentional — the fettuccine noodles' design holds the cheesy sauce well, ensuring that diners get plenty of Alfredo flavor in each bite.
