The Perfect Temperature To Deep Fry Eggs Without Breaking Them

Deep frying is a popular method for achieving crispy textures in various foods, including unconventional items such as Oreos and even eggs.
The technique involves heating oil to high temperatures, sometimes even up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, causing water to boil to the surface of the food and interact with the oil.
When frying eggs, it’s crucial to maintain the oil temperature at the lower end of the 320 to 375 degrees Fahrenheit range to prevent the eggs from breaking and becoming rubbery.
As per the Egg Safety Center, fried eggs should be cooked to an internal temperature of 144 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit. Use an instant thermometer to adjust the heat as needed.
The first step to deep frying eggs is to crack it into a small cup. Next, heat your oil in a deep-sided frying pan, pot, or wok, ensuring the egg can be partially submerged.
Once the oil reaches the right temperature, add the cracked egg to the pan. You can either flip the egg after 20-30 seconds or ladle hot oil over the top until it’s cooked.
