The NYC Staple That's The Oldest Steakhouse In America

Dining at New York City's staple restaurants feels like a culinary time travel. Old Homestead Steakhouse is one such spot and is actually the oldest of its kind in the U.S.
You can spot the restaurant by its glowing neon sign affixed to a vintage brick facade on the cusp of Chelsea and the Meatpacking District from halfway down the block.
The place offers a dining room cloaked in dark wood and red leather banquettes you can sink into, along with classic steakhouse sides and the promise of prime rib on the bone.
It is a rare New York staple where you can reliably get a table, including for larger parties. Unlike some of its aged kin, Old Homestead still delivers delicious food.
