The 'Lifelong Comfort Meal' Of Ree Drummond Is A Simple Chicken Dish

One of Food Network host, blogger, and culinary personality Ree Drummond’s comfort foods is a Chinese-American all-time favorite: cashew chicken.
In a post on The Pioneer Woman website, Drummond shared that, back in the '80s, she used to order the
dish when eating with friends in her hometown of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
"Whenever I eat it, I think of Jeep Wagoneers, Giorgio perfume, Stiff Stuff hairspray, toe shoes, Pontiac Fieros, and size 6 Guess jeans," she jokes in the post.
Traditional cashew chicken is garlicky, crunchy, and sweet — ultra flavorful but not spicy. Drummond makes it exclusively with chicken thighs and Shaoxing wine instead of sherry.
