The Ingenious Technique Bobby Flay Uses For Flavor-Packed Margaritas

While margaritas blended or "on the rocks" are the most common ways to enjoy the cocktail, Bobby Flay prefers to have his straight up, without ice.
In a video on Instagram, Flay walks people through making a margarita served straight up using a recipe that he proclaims is "a significant margarita."
The chef uses a 2:1:1 ratio of tequila, Cointreau (a type of orange liqueur), and lime juice. He then adds the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shakes vigorously.
Lastly, he strains the drink into a glass and garnishes it with a lime round. He recommends drinking the beverage while it's "nice and icy" since it won't stay cool for long.
Ice helps keep a drink cool, but it eventually melts and dilutes the beverage. You can order an iceless margarita at a bar by asking for it "straight up," "neat," or "without ice."
