Unwrapped block of butter

The Grocery Store Butter That Always Deserves Room In Your Fridge

One brand of butter is far above the rest: Kerrygold. While it runs close to $6 for an 8-ounce stick, the cost is worth it, as Kerrygold is far more flavorful than any other brand.
Kerrygold's label proudly proclaims "Pure Irish Butter," and therein lies the heart of its success. The Irish know what they're doing when it comes to butter.
Irish cows' all-grass diet gives Kerrygold a stronger flavor and softer texture. Grass also contains the pigment beta carotene, which gives the butter a rich, yellow color.
Another key difference is the fat content. While the States require butter to contain at least 80% fat, the E.U. requires at least 82% fat, making Kerrygold quite rich and creamy.
