The Fast Food Chain That Launched The Unique Buffet-Style SuperBar

Fast food establishments are known for food eaten on the go, but for about 10 years in the ‘80s and ‘90s, Wendy’s offered a sit-down buffet called the SuperBar.
The buffet was set at $2.99 for lunch, with dinner priced at $3.69. It was set up with three sections: Mexican, Italian, and the Garden Spot (a leafy salad bar).
Customers could fill their plates with spaghetti, rotini with vegetables, breadsticks, build-your-own burritos, tacos, fresh salad, and even desserts like fresh fruit and pudding.
The introduction of the SuperBar led to an increase in sales by 15% in its first year. People loved it, as it offered a good variety of customizable
food at a steal of a price.
The SuperBar became defunct in the late 90's, as the setup was reportedly hard for employees. Only a few fast food chains still have buffets today, such as Pizza Hut and Cicis.
