Peeling potatoes can be tedious, especially without a peeler on hand. However, an efficient and mess-free alternative involves using kitchen scissors to swiftly peel your spuds.

Begin by washing your potatoes. Then, score a line through the circumference of the potatoes using kitchen scissors, ensuring you get all the way around in a connected line.

Next, boil the spuds for 20 to 25 minutes to help their skins soften and separate. Once done, dunk each potato in a bowl of water and ice using a fork or tongs for 30 seconds.

After the ice bath, pull back on each side of the spud with your hands to peel the skin right off. Consider using a paper towel for extra grip and to protect your hands from heat.
