The Debate About When To Store Glasses Upside Down

NEWS

By TONY COOPER

The great glassware storage debate is whether to store them bottom-side-up or bottom-side-down. If you're like most people, you probably have a set way that you keep them.
If you use open shelves, the prospect of dusty drinkware becomes a much bigger concern. In this case, it’s best to store all of your glasses with the rim down.
However, storing them face-down might bring with it the added risk of chipping, given the extra stress being put on the rim, and you really don't want that.
So, if you're not using a glass often, or if it's sturdy at the rim, store it face-down to keep the dust out. If you’re using a glass regularly, face-up storage is a good option.
