S&P Lunch
The tuna sandwich served at NYC’s S&P Lunch features rye bread, tuna, mayo, and American cheese. A Yelp reviewer labeled it "One of the best I've ever had.”
Describing the sandwich, another reviewer on Yelp noted, "Perfect texture on the rye bread, melty cheese, tuna salad, filling and delicious served with a pickle spear."
Vuji Cafe in Houston Heights offers Asian-inspired sandwiches on Texas toast. As one diner on Yelp said about its best-selling Negitoro Tuna, “I dreamt of it last night.”
The sandwich consists of sushi-grade tuna belly and loin with scallions, salmon roe, creamy mayo, crunchy cucumbers, and a furikake spice mix featuring tempura seafood chips.
The tuna melt at Modigliani Cafe in Oakland has a crunchy, buttery exterior and a cheesy, creamy interior. A Yelp user called it “the closest thing to… perfection.”
The sandwich features an ample portion of skipjack tuna, mayo, celery, red onion, pickles, and lemon juice piled onto a roll, which is topped with cheddar cheese and then grilled.
Joe & The Juice has over 330 locations worldwide. It serves two tuna melts — the Tunacado and the spicy tuna — which, per diners, truly live up to their TikTok hype.
The Tunacado features tuna mousse, vegan pesto, avocado, and tomato on thin, crispy bread. The spicy tuna is almost the same, but it swaps the avocado for jalapeños and Tabasco.
Located on the edge of Kenton Park in Portland, Oregon, Parkside Bar & Bistro offers a classic tuna melt comprising a tuna-mayo mix and sourdough or rye bread.
When the sandwich is grilled, a lacy, crispy, and salty cheese skirt forms on the bread’s exterior. Per a Yelp review, "The tuna melt skirt leaves you wanting to come back for it.”
