The Best Bourbon To Use For A Juicy Paper Plane Cocktail

NEWS

By TONY COOPER
The paper plane is a modern classic in the world of cocktails and it has found a place in the repertoire of any bartender worth their salt.
This classic drink only has four ingredients but your choice of bourbon is paramount — it has to be assertive and strong-tasting.
You want to pick a bourbon with a proof point between 43% and 46%. Buffalo Trace is a good choice, bottled at 45% ABV with nice spice notes.
Many “bottom shelf” bourbons can also punch well above their weight, such as Wild Turkey 101 and Elijah Craig’s small batch.
If you want more spice in your bourbon, opt for a bottle with a higher percentage of rye like Old Grand-Dad bottled-in-bond, 1792 small batch, or Bulleit barrel-strength.
