The French jambon beurre (literally ham-butter) is a sandwich made on a boulangerie baguette with soft butter spread on one side and cured pork on the other.
The sandwich is a testament to the way that a city where fresh, less-processed ingredients are readily available and affordable makes some pretty perfect sandwiches.
Though easy to make in Paris, the jambon beurre is slightly harder to recreate in America. Be sure to use a good butter brand brought to room temperature so it spreads smoothly.
As for your ham, use thinly shaved meat straight from a local deli. To put it all together, buy a fresh baguette at your local farmers market or make one from scratch.
