Say Goodbye To Soggy Burger Buns With Sunny Anderson's Cheese Trick

NEWS

By JULIA MULLANEY

To avoid soggy hamburger buns, celebrity chef Sunny Anderson suggests placing and melting your cheese on the bottom bun, beneath the burger patty, rather than on top of it.
Ground beef leaks its juices both during and after it cooks, and the bread absorbs them and becomes soggy. The cheese, however, creates a barrier between the meat and the bun.
It's okay to place a slice of cheese above and below the burger patty, but because gravity pulls the juices down, the bottom bun is
the most important to protect.
When employing this trick, consider using a thick slice of cheese to create a better barrier. For obvious reasons, be sure to avoid Swiss cheese at all costs.
