If requested, Costco will score and adorn your cake with buttercream grid lines so that you know where to make your cuts to avoid shifted layers, oozed filling, or unequal slices.

When you need a cake, visit the store at least a day in advance, fill out a "Special Cake Order Form," note your request to score the cake, and drop the form in the order slot.
